In order to fight racism those of us who were raised casually (not caustically) racist have to face the historic feelings daily with resignation and resolve. Meanwhile, many fellow countrymen celebrate their embrace of superstition and embrace their own racism as some sort of divine imperative.

Speaking for myself, I was raised caustically racist. As an old woman, I have come to realize that the bad seeds planted so very early in my life will always be with me, dormant but ready to sprout when least expected. Better to acknowledge and deal with them than deny. Sad, but true.

It was a shock when I decided I didn't want to be racist anymore. It's not that easy, which is why coddling racism is a disservice to anyone who would rather stop.

Pan-racism is the answer: not precisely misanthropy, but close enough to get the job done!
