The lawsuit stemmed from a March 10, 2024, ABC segment in which Stephanopoulos repeatedly said that Trump had been “found liable for rape” in the E. Jean Carroll civil case. Trump has denied all wrongdoing toward Carroll, but last year a jury found that Trump sexually abused Carroll, sufficient to hold him liable for battery, though it did not find that Carroll proved he raped her. . . . ABC News anchor George Stephanopoulos is “apoplectic” and “humiliated” by the network’s decision to pay $16 million to settle a defamation lawsuit brought by President-elect Donald Trump, “The Post” has learned.
“In the past, Donald Trump has said he could grab a woman’s pussy and they’d let him do it because he’s famous. You admire him, you voted for him, you defended him. You think there are women in the country who feel that way, would let him do that to them, especially considering how he’s even more famous now?”
