Paul Believes David Hearn Guilty Because “I Really Don’t Like Him”
Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul, saying “I’m convinced this guy’s guilty, regardless of the evidence,” has subpoenaed David Hearn to “explain the damage he caused” at the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool in Washington, DC.
(Late last week, U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Jeanine Pirro dropped the case of vandalism against Hearn, an olympic canoeist. In June she said she could prove “beyond a reasonable doubt” that Hearn was guilty, but now says the damage was due to a “botched installation” by a contractor. The contractor, Atlantic Industrial Coatings, had been given a no-bid $6.89 million contract by the Department of Interior.)
“I don’t care what Pirro says or doesn’t say, She’s a dolt. And I also don’t care whether it was a sweetheart deal, how bad the contractor was, who hired the contractor, including the president, or if Trump personally received piles of cash in the Oval Office. None of that matters,” said the Kentucky senator. “What does is, I just don’t like Hearn — just like Fauci. That’s what should matter to people.”
