Canadians and Crystals
Melissa arrived last Sunday. Last year, when she came for the summer, we actually made an attempt to see parts of the city. Since her arrival this year, though, we've spent the first week watching reruns of 90 Day Fiancé in Portuguese, admiring Vera's new haircut, and wondering how much Clonazepam she can get without a prescription.
We did go to Sauro Dinis, where Melissa looked at all 123,678 crystals on display. And while I didn't experience the calm, peace, harmony, wisdom, and healing power coming from each and every stone, Melissa assures me the entire store was filled with — how do I describe? — total total-ness. At the counter, a woman in a white designer muumuu, "Dior" written along the hem, was buying some stones. The clerk said . . .
