Learning Portuguese is tough enough without typos. Ana, who comes by every week to clean (when she’s not finishing her Masters in Psychology), texted me bom ferido. I quickly looked up ferido, and while I couldn’t figure out why she was wishing me a “good wound,” I texted back Tu também (“You too”).
She sent me a smiley face.
Whatever. I am guest in this land.
I’ll get back to that.
Speaking of language, this morning, outside the 24-hour McDonald’s, on Av. Fernão de Magalhães, I saw this on a bus — the bus station is right next door — with this bumper sticker.
