Next to Casa da Massa, the Chinese take away restaurant, where the unfriendly girl in a mask and baggy pants works with her father, is an Indian kebob restaurant — called, wait for it, Indian Kebob Restaurante —where a friendly, unmasked girl whose jeans are not baggy works with hers.
Last week, as mentioned, when the power went out in the country (thanks Biden) and this was the only place open, Narinder made for me a Kebab Durum Wrap, which I’m sure everyone but me knows is a tortilla upon which is piled seasoned, mysterious meats sheared from an inverted cone. She promised to make and adorn it, shall we say, kid-friendly for my retarded palate. I went back yesterday to see if she could recreate the magic.
She did.
