Jones Beach Water Tower
On Monday — and sorry for being tardy — I went into New York City to visit some friends. Sister Skylar, I think that’s it, drove me to Ronkonkoma where I boarded the 7:57 a.m. train to Penn Station. This was to be my first Senior Fare; unfortunately, the senior fare is not applicable during peak hours, so it was still full price, $38 round trip — or about what my father spent for his monthly ticket 50 years ago when we first moved to Long Island.
